finally met up with van after almost two months!! (: (: it was SO NICE chatting and catching up and gossiping and shopping. this is bad, we should really meet up more often! (im going out with her again next weekend!) i think im horribly lazy. i should be meeting up with friends (esp good friends!) more often!

well on the topic of friends, just last weekend (me thinks) i was reading on the newspapers about how this journalist was calling herself a best friend slut. now you must be wondering, best friend slut??? what on earth! well basically a best friend slut has many best friends. a best friend slut changes her best friend as she goes through different stages in life. and i guess if that's the definition of a best friend slut, i think im a best friend slut. lol.

but the article got me thinking anyway. i dont think it's ever possible to have a bestest friend (if you know what i mean). you may have manymany reallyreally good friends, but ultimately, it's hard to measure a friend's worth and whether he/she is you know, your bestest friend!

Remember in primary school how autograph books were loaded with "Best Wishes", "Forget Me Not", and small poems like "Bird fly high, hard to catch. Friend like you, hard to forget"? and how friends promised to keep in touch and be friends forever? sadly, truth is, im not even in contact with my best friend from primary 3. well im still in contact with a few primary school friends but i guess there are only two whom im still pretty close to - joyce and jacq (and i hope i remain close to) and im thankful for that (: my best friend from secondary school was joyce and she was from my primary school but ironically, we were barely good friends back then. i mean we were friends, but not close, and it's funny how under different circumstances and situations our friendship blossomed. and then i had a best friend at sba - van, i remember how we wrote letters and there was this period of time where i only went training if she went training. and then came along another best friend, darling juan. and i found a new best friend when i started dating john cuz i told him everything (well almost..) then came jc, i found my new best friends in vian and princess.

see, i have so many best friends. am i not a best friend slut??

but having so many best friends definitely doesnt mean i love them each any less!
so that brings me to my point, you dont need a bestest friend. you can have many best friends and its because each 'best friend' is unique and special and there are certain special memories that only both of you can share and talk about!

and if you noticed, i didnt mention jeev as my best friend.
cuz jeev's different. he's more than a best friend. he's my soulmate.
