i think i didnt mention that i have a friend at sheffield! it's really amazing how small the world is.
you see, sheffield has this student2student scheme which i think is great because i get to email singaporeans studying over there and find out what it is really like to study at sheffield. so far, i've corresponded with about 4 or 5 singaporeans studying over there (some doing law, engineering and other art programs). the amazing thing is that i got lucky! someone's studying medicine over there! the thing is, she isnt really singaporean but she grew up studying in singapore! so anyhows, i've been emailing her and chatting with her very often on msn since april. the (more) amazing and unbelievable thing is, only after chatting with her for so long, i found out just weeks ago that she was from dunman high! AND IF THAT'S NOT ENOUGH... i know who she is! she used to be my badminton senior! (you must be wondering what took us so long to finally realise who both of us were, but you must understand we hardly talked in school)
What are the odds??? :D
so jess (that's her) been giving me advice on what to pack, what not to buy here but buy over there instead, and we're gonna buy medical books together when she gets back in june!
just yesterday i was asking her what's the timetable over there like for medicine course, cuz apparently she's been telling me that the timetable there is really good and not as hectic as i imagined it to be. and omg i was shocked when she sent it over to me via msn haha.
every day the earliest lesson is at 9am. (yay dont have to wake up THAT early) the time table for every week is different, but on the average, mondays end at 3pm (with of course breaks in between), tuesdays end at 4pm or 5pm, wednesdays ends at 2pm or so, thursdays 4pm, and fridays about 2 or 3pm!
haha, even better than my jc time table.
which means if i plan my time well, i have loads of time to exercise, do voluntary work and perhaps find a job! im so excited :D
oh and im so happy for rudo, she got into NUS medicine! she emailed me that day from doncaster (a small town near sheffield) telling me how excited she was when she checked the NUS website! it's pretty funny, she's coming over here to study, and im going over there to study. she said she would've applied to sheffield cuz it's a good school but the main reason she didnt is because it's so near her home and she wants to study abroad. (and i can fully understand how she feels)
